The long story

You can skip this part if you don't want to know more about the idea behind HaveFunLearnChinese.

Learning can be hard.

Learning Mandarin Chinese especially so.

You spend a few months memorizing six hundred basic characters just to find out you cannot read a simple note. And to master a newspaper article, you'll have to learn a thousand more.

Your brain is an amazing piece of work. Some say with persistence and motivation you can learn up to 30 Chinese characters per day for months in a row. Your brain can do that, but how bored you'll get. You'll feel like you are trying to stuff your head till it explodes.

And the problem is not with your mental capacity, the problem is your brain won't learn what it perceives as useless stuff. You may be all excited about being able to communicate in what many think is the hardest language in the world, but all your brain sees is an endless queue of stupid black blobs which all look the same and have absolutely nothing to do with the reality, bring no immediate joy, pleasure or satisfaction.

We believe that learning Mandarin Chinese can be fun. Even the hardest part - memorizing characters, words and building vocabulary.

We want to crack the problem of enjoyable learning on the go. We want to create interactive exercises which are fun to use and at the same time unlock your maximum learning potential.

Our goal is to create the most useful apps for learning and we want the users and the learners to be the judges. We create many simple games and let the players decide which ones are good and which are not. You can take part in this quest, whenever you play any of our games and publish a high score, you upvote the game you play and this game and games similar to it get additional development resources.
